Zeiss unveils upgraded customer experience center in Shanghai
German optics and optoelectronics giant Zeiss has recently unveiled its upgraded China customer experience center in Shanghai's Pudong New Area.
The facility is the first of its kind to integrate sci-tech resources across all of the company's business sectors — including medical and semiconductor manufacturing technologies, microscopy and industrial quality solutions, and consumer optics — for a comprehensive showcase of Zeiss' cutting-edge innovations.
It will also empower the local innovation ecosystem by cooperating with enterprises, universities, and scientific research institutions, and by serving as a science education base for the cultivation of new-generation scientific research talent.
Innovation has always been part of Zeiss' DNA, and customers are valued as its partners in co-creating the future. The upgrade of the China customer experience center resonates with the company's rapid growth in China and underscores its long-term commitment to the Chinese market, said Axel Christian, CFO & interim head of Zeiss Greater China.
Zeiss first entered the Chinese market in 1957, and the country had become its largest market by 2021. Its ties with Shanghai date back to 1999, when it launched operations in the Waigaoqiao Bonded Area.
In 2015, the company further deepened its presence by inaugurating its Greater China headquarters in Waigaoqiao, and launching its first customer experience center on the first floor for product demonstration, testing, and training.
Following its first upgrade in 2019, the center's latest revamp has further expanded the space to a vast 2,100 square meters — three times its original size. This is a vivid reflection of Zeiss' dynamic growth in China.
